Chalkis Shipyards S.A. completed with success on the 22nd of May 2007 their annual inspection by EQA Ltd according to ISO 9001:2000

Successful presence of Chalkis Shipyards at Posidonia Exhibition 2006

Remarkable was the presence of Chalkis Shipyards at Posidonia Exhibition 2006, which took place at the Hellenikon Exhibition Centre. Chalkis Shipyards stand was considered as one of the best-tasted and hospitable stands that embraced not only the present and future clients and contributors but also every kind of visitor of the exhibition. The presence of Chalkis Shipyards reflected the friendly co-operation environment, which characterizes all relations between the Shipyard and her clients and collaborates in general.
The dynamic come back of Chalkis Shipyards in the field of repairs with the quality of their projects (Certification EN 9001:2000) and the quantity and extent of works was also made visible not only to the ship owners but to the Shipyard’s competitors as well.

EN ISO 9001: 2000 : Chalkis Shipyards S.A. completed with success on the 30th of May 2006 their inspection by EQA Ltd and is now certified to EN ISO 9001:2000 on the field of "Ships Repairs".

Shifting of Fire Extinguishing Aircraft 
On the 26th of April 2006, the floating crane of Chalkis Shipyards was disposed for the shifting of the fire extinguishing aircraft of air force type CL-415 at the area of Aliveri in Evoia. In addition and according to the wish of the Managing Director Mrs Sissy Ilia, area in Chalkis Shipyards S.A. was disposed to the Air Force, with no financial charge, in order to execute works for the restoration of damages.
 
 

A quick record of the vessels number that have visited the Shipyard and have carried out common dry-docking works (sandblasting-painting, inspection of valves and tailshaft measurements, repair of tailshaft and rudder) and/or repair works (steel works, piping, electrical works, machinery works) since year 2000 up to today verges on the number of 300 vessels - mainly Bulk Carriers, while the building of two new tugboats is also taking place.


The upward route of Chalkis Shipyards is sealed with the positive estimation of our services by the superintendent engineers as well as the shipping companies themselves proving in this way the almost perfect quality of our works, the low prices and the little time needed to complete the requested works.


It is still the Shipyard's goal in its future plans to completely satisfy the clients attracting in addition new clients not only from the Greek Ship Owners but from abroad as well.


The company trying to synchronize with the new market demands is incorporating her procedures in a quality assurance system (acc. to ISO 9001:2000 standard) being in the phase of fulfilling this goal and intending to be certified by the end of the following year.


The security measurements enforced by ISPS code are also in implementation.
